Ewan McGregor stars in first-look trailer for new TV series

Paramount+ has released a trailer for A Gentleman in Moscow, an upcoming period series starring Ewan McGregor in the lead role.
An adaptation of the best-selling novel by Amor Towles, the series was first announced in August 2022.
McGregor stars as Count Alexander Rostov, an aristocrat who finds himself on the wrong side of history in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution. Spared immediate execution, Rostov is banished by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the opulent Hotel Metropol, threatened to be killed if he ever sets foot outside again.

"As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel's doors, Rostov's reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery," the synopsis reads, teasing the protagonist will discover "the true value of friendship, family and love" in his new, secluded life.
The cast for the series is rounded out by Ahsoka's Mary Elizabeth Winstead as glamorous film actress Anna Urbanova and Lockwood and Co's Alexa Goodall as Rostov's unlikely young friend Nina, who becomes his most trusted pal at the hotel.
Johnny Harris (This Is England '86) and Fehinti Balogun (Dune) also feature as conflicted secret police officer Osip and Mishka, the Count's best friend from university.

In the newly released trailer, Rostov is sentenced to spending the rest of his days in a squalid attic room at the grandiose Metropol.
As he tries to make the most of his new life, he bonds with the outspoken Nina, who seems to be living at the hotel and knows a few secret passages to hidden rooms.
The Count also gets to know Anna Urbanova during her stay at the Metropol, developing an attraction for the alluring film star.
A Gentleman in Moscow premieres on March 29 on Paramount+ in the US and the UK.
