Everything Natural under new ownership

May 17—A Clarks Summit couple aims to continue the proud tradition of a longtime borough business.

Gabby and Guy Fasciana took over ownership of Everything Natural, a health food store at 426 S. State St., Tuesday and plan to maintain many traits which made the business successful for nearly four decades. The new owners did not disclose the sale price.

The store was established in 1985 by Barry Kaplan; his wife, Donna; and his sister-in-law, Michele Cooper. Neil Persad, who operates a similar store in New Jersey, took over the business in 2016.

"The previous owners built a really great legacy," Guy Fasciana said. "We want to keep that store as the number one resource for healthy living in the area. It's such a great business — there is not a lot we would want to come in and change."

Fasciana, 35, found inspiration to run the shop after discovering the benefits of changing his diet and lifestyle.

"I was able to improve my health by moving in a more natural, holistic direction," he said. "Over the years, I've been moving from prescription medicine to natural medicine, organic eating and supplements."

The Fascianas hope to network with neighboring businesses as they acclimate to the borough's downtown.

"We love the community and how businesses and locals, in general, support each other," said Gabby Fasciana, 30.

Guy Fasciana strives to source quality grass-fed, pasture-raised and organic products from area farmers.

"We want to support local farms whether it's produce, eggs, dairy or meat," he said.

Gabby Fasciana added Everything Natural has a range of products to cater to all dietary restrictions.

The business will host a summer kickoff party, featuring storewide sales, raffle giveaways and live music, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Janice Bevacqua, interim president of the Abington Business & Professional Association, believes the new owners will be a good fit in the Clarks Summit community.

"The previous owner said they have the right mentality," she said. "They're very nature oriented and they like natural, homeopathic things."

Bevacqua recognizes the importance of the store on the region, noting she made trips to shop there even before working in the Clarks Summit area.

"I would say it's the anchor store for the Abingtons," she said.
