Everything you need to know for Tuesday's election

May 20—Polling stations will be open on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as voters choose nominees for the presidency, Congress, the Kentucky General Assembly, and various local offices.

In Madison County, there will be no city races on the ballot, as Berea will vote in the fall and Richmond did not have enough individuals running for local office.

Madison County Clerk Kenny Barger commented that Early Voting has gone well with short lines, which aligns with Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams's prediction of 15% voter turnout.

The same voting equipment that has been used in the last couple of elections, the Election systems & Software Express Vote ballot marking device, will also be used for this election, according to Barger.

Key Points for Voters:

Polling Hours: If you are in line by 6 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

Registration: Kentucky does not offer same-day registration. If you registered 29 days before the election but your name isn't on the precinct roster, you can request a provisional ballot.

Identification: Voters must present an ID to vote. Accepted forms include:

* Driver's license

* College ID

* Military ID

* Other state, county, or city-issued ID with a photograph and the voter's name

Voters without an ID can still vote using a provisional ballot. For more details on voter rights, visit the State Board of Elections website.

Absentee Ballots: Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the local county clerk by 6 p.m. on Election Day.

Reporting Issues: Report suspected election law violations or voting irregularities to the Attorney General's Office via the Election Fraud Hotline at 1-800-328-VOTE (1-800-328-8683). The hotline is staffed on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT. Complaint numbers will be posted on the office's website.

Polling Place Information: For details about your local polling place, including addresses, visit the State Board of Elections website and select your county. Additional information is available at govote.ky.gov.
