Amazon Prime Day - AKA the ecommerce company's version of Black Friday, which is set to offer more than 1 million deals worldwide - is finally here. It will officially start on Monday, July 16 at 3 p.m EDT, and will run six full hours longer than the Prime Days of years past, ending on Wednesday, July 18 at 3 a.m. EDT.

If you've never shopped Prime Day before, you're in for a deeply discounted treat. It's basically a now-36-hour period in which Amazon offers its best deals of the year, complete with major sales and limited-time lightning deals (which last for a certain set amount of time) and spotlight deals (which last until an item runs out - and there are 50 percent more of these this year!). And on top of all of that, this year, Prime members will also be able to take advantage of Prime Day deals at Whole Foods.

How To Score All The Deals:

First thing's first, you need to have an Amazon Prime membership in order to take advantage of all of the amazing deals. If you have one, great, you're all set to start shopping. If you don't, you can click this link to sign up. If you've never tried Amazon Prime before, you can also take advantage of a 30-day free trial, which will give you access to all of the deals, too - and you can always cancel when your free month is up, if you don't want to get charged and continue being a member.

To snag deals at Whole Foods this year, you'll need to download the Whole Foods Market app and scan your Prime Code. In doing that, you'll get 10 percent off sale items as well as access to deep discounts on other popular items. If you have an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card, you'll also be eligible for 10 percent back on Whole Foods purchases up to $400 from July 14 through July 17.

Prime Day Shopping Tips:

Use the Amazon App.

To make sure you don't miss any major deals - especially to take advantage of those limited time lightning deals - you can use the Amazon app to watch and track deals you're interested in. And, if you use the app, you can get an early sneak peak from July 9 through July 15 at upcoming deals.

Ask Alexa.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you can ask the Alexa app for information on your deals, too. Just ask, "Alexa, what are my Prime Day deals?" and track your orders by asking, "Alexa, where's my stuff?"

Check Lightning Deals Frequently.

Amazon's lightning deals will come and go in a flash, so make sure you're checking the lightning deals page periodically to see if you can catch any of your favorite items on sale. You can also keep an eye on the Prime Day exclusive launches page as well.

Other Tips:

You can also find more deals by browsing the Amazon app or site by interest and category. And, if you use an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card or an Amazon Prime Store Card, you'll get 5 percent back on all of your purchases.

Deals You Can Shop Now:

Even better news? You can start taking advantage of Prime Day deals right now.

Amazon is also offering major discounts on exclusive brands and collections, including up to 25 percent off decor and furniture from Rivet and Stone & Beam, along with up to 20 percent off Amazon Handmade, 20 percent off AmazonBasics, and 30 percent off everyday essentials from Presto!, Mama Bear, Solimo, and more.
