GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As Netflix users welcome a seventh season of “Somebody Feed Phil” this month, Grand Rapidians are getting set to welcome its creator to town in May.

“An Evening with Phil Rosenthal of ‘Somebody Feed Phil'” will make a stop along a 25-city tour in Grand Rapids at GLC Live at 20 Monroe on May 2. He will also be at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor the day before.

The tour is running as the new season of Rosenthal’s latest project is released on Netflix. The show features Rosenthal traveling across the country, meeting people and, of course, trying out all the great food each city has to offer.

The live show will allow Rosenthal to not only share some stories from his travels but also about his career and life.

“It is a little like a comedy show because I think some of the stories are very funny. And then the interaction with the audience, the audience is always great,” Rosenthal told News 8. “We really have a good time, I have to say. And I love doing it.”

Rosenthal is best known for his role on the hit Netflix show, where he’s the focal point, but also for his time behind the screen as the creator of the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond,” for which he won two Emmys for best comedy series.

He blends both of these milestones in his life in the live show, telling firsthand stories and taking questions from the audience.

“You get the funny stories of my career, life and the funny things that have happened on the show. And then like a half an hour to an hour of Q&A with the audience,” he said. “So if you come, you can ask whatever you want. I’m very good at relationship advice. Marriage advice.”

Ever the comedian, Rosenthal did have one last message for those who might be on the fence about coming to the live show on May 2:

“I wouldn’t come if you’ve never seen the show or liked the show,” he said. “But if you do, I think you’ll have a good time.”
