Residents have been advised to evacuate the 10-kilometer zone near the border in Sumy Oblast due to constant shelling by the Russian Federation, regional governor Volodymyr Artyukh announced on national television on May 14.

"At the suggestion of the military command, given the intensity of shelling of the settlements of the Bilopillia community, evacuation within a 10-kilometer zone was recommended. Although last year it was a 5-kilometer zone," he said.
