Euclid preparing for Trunk or Treat event

Oct. 5—Trunk or Treat will be hosted behind Euclid City Hall where citizens can decorate their vehicle trunks in spooky Halloween decoration and dispense candy to the children that come by.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. Those who register will be charged with decorating the trunk of their vehicle and handing out candy to the children that pass by.

"One thing that we are doing a little bit different than we did it last year is we are going to have a doughnut truck on site, and a coffee truck," Recreation Director Mac Stephens said. "Whenever we do this, we think the participation numbers are really impressive; the community really gets behind it. This year we wanted to take it a step further with our doughnut truck. We just want people to have a good time."

Stephens said that the last time they hosted this event they had over 30 trunks participating in festivities and this year many people within city hall are signed up to decorate their trunk, including Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer-Gail.

Prizes will be given out for the best decorated trunk, but Stephens said that they do not yet know what the prizes will be.

Anyone who wants to participate can register at Euclidcityhall.com/recreation, go to Euclid City Hall at 585 E. 222nd St., or call 216-289-2114.

Once registered, participants will be contacted by the rec department to go over further rules and what candy can be dispensed to children.
