Essie’s Michelle Saunders’ NYFW #YBSquad Diary
As Essie’s celebrity manicurist, Michelle Saunders knows her nails. With a hidden talent for accurately guessing Essie shades at first glance (she’s been known to freak out fellow airplane passengers), Saunders has painted many a noteworthy manicure, from the red carpet to the runway, and is always one step ahead of the trend. This season she’s psyched and even a bit surprised that nail art is back! She took control of our Instagram, Snapchat, Periscope and Twitter for Day Two of New York Fashion Week as a member of our #YBSquad. On her schedule? Three things that are always in my bag are during fashion week are…

My go-to outfit is… all black head to toe. Must be comfortable but on-trend with personality.
The only shoes I’ll wear are… a boot with a wedge to give me some height when I’m standing next to Karlie.
My fashion week guilty pleasure is… a luxurious foot massage at the local foot spa.
The night before fashion week I… apply my Wei under eye treatment pads while I pre-style and try on my wardrobe for the week so there is no last minute decision making.
In the morning I eat… seasonal fruit with plain greek yogurt and granola
My fashion week beauty secret weapon is… red lipstick is a must. It gives me life! I love Red Revival by Maybelline.
If I have a minute to work out I… get on the floor and stretch!
My coffee shop order is… I’ll have a large Earl Grey tea please
The song I’m playing on repeat is… Gosh by Jamie XX; it gets me hyped every time listen to it.
My go-to emoji is the… pink nail polished fingers of course!
My #1 social media rule is… don’t post unless you’re inspired.
My favorite part about fashion week is… always the line up, backstage, before the models walk onto the runway, there is a quiet moment when I can appreciate what we all just created together.
