Escambia and Santa Rosa County Student of the Week for May 21-24 announced

Congratulations to Pine Forest High School’s Tiara Hall. Hall is this week's Escambia and Santa Rosa County High School Student of the Week.

Hall won with 54.93 percent of the vote. Runner up Tin Tran finished in second with 37.32 percent of the vote.

A new week of voting will start on Tuesday, May 28 so make sure to vote!

Here's the nomination submitted for Hall and details on the other nominees:

Pine Forest High School - Tiara Hall

Tiara Hall, 12th grade: Tiara is a diligent student known for her positive attitude, setting an example for her peers. She consistently gives her utmost effort to every assignment and embraces academic challenges without hesitation, she strategically managed a mock investing portfolio in Honors Economics, achieving positive gains as a first-time investor. Tiara excels in her studies, to include demanding courses like AP and Honors courses.

Northview High School - Jamison Gilman

Jamison Gilman, 11th grade: This student is a wonderful young lady with many special gifts. She maintains a weighted GPA of 4.47 and takes many dual enrolled courses. Jamison is a member of our BETA Club and is a Rotary Academic All Star. She is a fierce competitor on our softball team, and she leads in many ways. This young lady is our starting pitcher and leadoff hitter while helping our team get to the Regional Championship Game. We are very proud to have Jamison as one of our students.

Success Academy - Kamaria Pope

Kamaria Pope, 11th grade: Kamaria is super respectful and demonstrates a pleasant attitude. Also, she is a hard worker.

Escambia High School - Alyssa Ball-Armstrong

Alyssa Ball-Armstrong, 11th grade: Alyssa Ball-Armstrong is an 11th grade student at Escambia High School with a 3.5 GPA. She is currently enrolled in Spanish 3 Honors, AP English, Chemistry Honors, AP US History, Algebra 2, Volleyball, and Digital Media. All of Alyssa’s teachers and classmates boast that she is such a great student. Alyssa has also been described as a good role model, responsible, and academically and socially enthusiastic. In Chemistry, Alyssa is always attentive in class and excels at learning difficult material. She strives to learn the material so she can help her peers understand as well. She is punctual turning in her assignments and has an A average. In AP US History, Alyssa is described as reliable and helpful, works well with other students, and always completes her work. She has an A in US History and scored at the top of the school for her EOC with a Level 5. In Algebra 2, Alyssa is a superb student. Her assignments are always done before the due date. Alyssa is always helping other students with material they do not understand. She is always on task and very respectful. Alyssa works hard until she masters the very difficult Algebra 2 work. Overall, Alyssa is an excellent student who is committed and driven to being a successful high school student. She is eager to learn, but is also willing to teach and demonstrates great leadership skills. Alyssa’s peers tend to look towards her for guidance and she is known for her positivity towards everyone she comes across.

J.M. Tate High School - Tin Tran

Tin Tran, 12th grade: Tin is a phenomenal student. He is currently taking an Honors Economics course here at school but is also taking AP Economics online. This is an amazing feat! Tin always completes each assignment as directed and asks the best clarifying questions. He always offers to help teachers and other students in the learning process of Economics. He is a great group leader and gives salient points during discussions in Economics. Tin went out of his way to help his teacher that was on crutches get her belongings to her car after school since she wasn't able to do it by herself. Tin's Honors Economics teacher says, "He is thoughtful and kind and deserves this nomination!!!"
