Escambia County hit-and-run blocks both lanes of North Davis Highway: FHP

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A hit-and-run early Wednesday morning caused all lanes of North Davis Highway to be closed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP news release said that around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, a truck was driving north on North Davis Highway when the driver made a U-turn in front of another truck traveling south.

The driver of the second truck swerved to avoid a crash and ended up hitting a utility power pole before going down an embankment, according to the release.

Due to the truck hitting the power pole, power lines fell into the roadway and blocked the north and southbound lanes.

The news release said the driver of the first truck left the scene going south on the highway.
