Erynn Dulaney of Colo-NESCO wins the Ames Tribune's first Student of the Week vote

Colo-NESCO's Erynn Dulaney prevailed in the Ames Tribune's first Student of the Week vote.

Dulaney secured 1,417 votes, or 48.25% of the 3,463 votes cast this week to take the lead over fellow nominees Alice Zhang of Gilbert and Austin Boege, Collins-Maxwell.

Junior Erynn Dulaney has stepped up as a leader for the Colo-NESCO FCCLA chapter. She is the chapter Public Relations officer, competed in the District STAR Event Nutrition and Wellness receiving a Silver, and helped organize the Valentine's Day cookie fundraiser.

She also recently attended the Student Council Leadership Conference. Not only is Dulaney involved in these extra-curriculars, but she also maintains a 4.0 GPA.

Principals in Story County can nominate a student who demonstrates excellence throughout the academic year each week. Students from public and private high schools in Story County are eligible to participate.

Alice Zhang, Gilbert

Alice Zhang is a standout senior who has advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Zhang is a candidate in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program as well.

Austin Boege, Collins-Maxwell

Austin Boege is a hardworking, dedicated student. He is involved in drama, sports, FFA, and many other activities.

Boege maintains great grades while balancing all of his activities. He is a leader in the school, and he provides a great example for students of all ages.
