EPSO: Man wanted for attempted murder of son

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A man is wanted for Attempted Murder after he allegedly shot his son and left the scene on Thursday, May 16, in the Cimarron Hills area.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), deputies responded shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday to a reported shooting in the 6000 block of Chantilly Place, in Cimarron Hills. EPSO said multiple callers to the EPSO Communication Center reported hearing between six and 10 shots fired in the area.

When deputies arrived, they provided medical assistance to the victim before he was taken to the hospital.

EPSO said the suspect was identified as the victim’s father, 51-year-old Dan Medina. Medina left the scene and has not been found.

Medina is wanted for Attempted Murder and is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, EPSO urged that you not approach, and instead call 911.
