Entrapped driver taken to hospital in vehicle crash on Marysville Rd

ALTAVISTA, Va. (WFXR)– The Altavista Fire Company reports a person was injured during a vehicle crash on Marysville Road on Thursday, April 11.

According to the fire department, crews were dispatched just after 9 p.m. on a report of an injury during a crash involving two vehicles on Marysville Rd near Courtney Terrace. While units were on their way to the scene, the call was upgraded for reports of entrapment.

Crews arrived and found two vehicles with heavy damage that collided head-on with a driver’s leg pinned under the dash. Crews stabilized the vehicle and were able to extract the driver who reportedly had sustained serious injuries.

Marysville Road was shut down during the extrication and patients were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
