NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) — If you’re going toward Lafayette on US-90 from La. 14 for the next few months, you’re going to be shown a different way for a while.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the entrance ramp from eastbound La. 14 (Center Street) to westbound US-90 (toward Lafayette) is closed starting today at 7 a.m.

DOTD said the closure is necessary for the removal and reconstruction of the entrance ramp. The project is scheduled to be completed May 27, weather permitting.

A detour will be posted that consists of routing traffic to the US-90 westbound entrance ramp at La. 675 (Jefferson Island Road) via US-90 Frontage Road. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the entire area.
