Panera Announces $1 Soup Deal Just In Time For Chilly Season

The limited-time offer is in celebration of National Soup Month in January

Panera Bread is helping you to stay warm (and fed) this winter!

To celebrate National Soup Month this January, the chain of bakery-café fast food restaurants is offering up a yummy deal on their bowl meals.

“Enjoy a cup of soup for just $1 with an entree. When you order on the app, for a limited time only! Use Code: SOUP,” their website currently says of the offer. The soup savings cannot be combined with any other promotion.

In addition to the $1 soup deal, the company also announced on Wednesday that two new Sourdough Melts — the Bacon Avocado Melt and the Southwest Chicken Melt — would be making their way to the menu. Both start at $8.99 each.

The Bacon Avocado Melt is made with applewood smoked bacon, fresh avocado, smoked gouda, everything bagel seasoning blend and chipotle aioli on toasted sourdough. Customers can also pick up the flavor-packed Southwest Chicken Melt, made with smoked pulled chicken, smoked gouda, red onion, cilantro, and chipotle aioli on toasted sourdough.

"Just in time for National Soup Month, it's the perfect season for guests to cozy up with a new Sourdough Melt and complete their meal with a cup of their favorite Panera soup for $1 – an incredible value to kickstart the year," Panera Bread's Brand Building SVP Drayton Martin said in a statement.

"At Panera, we pride ourselves on being the sandwich experts – and our team of chefs and bakers have taken our grilled cheese to new heights with melty new sandwich varieties that pack the perfect combination of flavors," Martin added.

The new melts are also available on Panera's "You Pick Two" deal menu advertised on their company website. The promotion allows customers to select any two entrées, including soups, salads, sandwiches and more.

"New Sourdough Melts are crafted on Panera's signature Country Rustic Sourdough, expertly toasted to showcase the feel-good flavor of classic grilled cheese that pairs perfectly with Panera's signature soups this National Soup Month," the company said in a press release.

The money saving deals this month don’t end with the soups!

Since the company is celebrating the launch of new Sourdough Melts and all things carb-related, Panera will be giving away 1,000 free Sourdough Melts on the Panera app with code BREADSOGOOD on Jan. 17 for National Ditch Your Resolution Day. There is no purchase necessary, but customers do have to be a MyPanera member to get the deal.

Once all 1,000 sandwiches have been redeemed, the offer ends. Jan. 25 is the final day for the promotion.
