‘805 After Five’ to bring live music, food and games to Butler Green Park

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — An event launching in May will bring live music, food, games and more to Butler Green Park on the third Thursday of each month.

‘805 After Five’ is an event done by Downtown Huntsville, Inc. and the Huntsville Music Office that will be held at Campus No. 805’s Butler Green Park from 5-8 p.m. The first event in the series is set for May 16.

Volunteers help make home improvements for veteran injured during service

According to the City of Huntsville, the event aims to energize the City’s young professionals by featuring a free concert by a touring act each month.

The first edition of the event will feature Long Island indie-rock band The Lemon Twigs. The city says they’ll perform tracks from their new album, “A Dream Is All We Know,” Crystal Egg, an up-and-coming indie band, will be opening the festivities.

Those attending the events can also check out vendor booths, enjoy yard games and purchase concessions.

“We are thrilled to introduce 805 After Five to the Huntsville community,” said Rob Buddo, President and CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. “This event series embodies our commitment to fostering a vibrant downtown environment where people can come together to enjoy great music, delicious food and exciting activities, all while celebrating the lively atmosphere of West Huntsville and Butler Green.”

Following its May 16 kickoff, the event will head back to Butler Green on each of the following dates:

  • June 20

  • July 18

  • Aug. 15

  • Sept. 19

  • Oct. 17
