Enterprise woman pleads guilty to manslaughter in deadly crash

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — An Enterprise woman has been sentenced after pleading guilty to causing a deadly crash three years ago.

Andrea Stacy was charged with one count of manslaughter in the death of 32-year-old Brittanie Ferguson, who died in a car crash just before Christmas in 2021.

Sources tell WDHN Stacy pleaded guilty to the charge on Wednesday. Judge Sonny Reagan sentenced Stacy to 20 years but split that sentence, requiring her to serve only three years.

At the time of the crash, Coffee County investigators told WDHN Stacy was driving her Toyota 4Runner on the wrong side of Highway 27 and East Lee Street when she collided with Ferguson in a “head-on” collision, ejecting Ferguson from her vehicle.

Ferguson was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.

After entering the plea, Stacy asked for time to get her affairs in order before her sentence began. Judge Reagan denied this request.
