Enterprise teen charged with several arsons after clubhouse fire

ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — A teen is facing several counts of arson and burglary after police say a fire at an Enterprise townhouse complex led investigators to crack the case on other mysterious fires in the City of Progress.

On Thursday, April 18, Enterprise Police and Enterprise Fire rushed to the Eagle Landing townhouses on Sheffield Road after receiving reports of a fire at the complex’s clubhouse.

After firefighters put out the blaze, Enterprise Police was told the cause of the fire may have been arson. After a short investigation, a male teen at the scene was detained.

According to Enterprise Police, the male teen, who has not been publicly identified, was eventually charged with arson in the second degree and burglary in the third degree in connection with the fire Thursday morning.

Police say the investigation into the male teen led to them charging him with an additional two counts of arson in the third degree and two counts of burglary in the third degree in connection with fires at vacant houses in Enterprise earlier this year.

The clubhouse at Eagle Landing was unoccupied when the fire occurred, but it was heavily damaged.
