I start this title as a question because New England Patriots’ fans know how good there team’s offense can be. The 2007 New England Patriots, to this day, are considered one of the most dangerous offensive squads ever assembled.

With Tom Brady at the helm, the New England Patriots in 2007 went 16-0 in the regular season with one of the finest squads of all-time.

This all started with the “Randy Moss Experiment” and the acquisition of Wes Welker. The latter had been on Bill Belichick’s radar for a while as a divisional pain in the ass. Bill Belichick saw a versatile player in Welker and acquired him.

The “Randy Moss Experiment”, well, what is there to say. Critics thought Randy Moss was washed up and nothing but trouble for any NFL team. The New England Patriots’ system of “team first” and checking your ego at the door actually worked on Randy Moss. Moss not only was a record setting receiver in 2007 but also went on to become a great teammate in New England.

For as good as Wes Welker was and by no means is this a disrespect, Julian Edelman is his equal if not surpassing him in the slot receiver role. What Julian Edelman does is nothing short of amazing. He always finds a way to get open and is always there for short to medium routes.

Even more interesting, especially after Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, is the potential of Chris Hogan as a deep threat. Chris Hogan, another divisional pain, was brought over from Buffalo. He torched the Browns’ secondary multiple times on Sunday and made deep catches that were a sight to behold.

Danny Amendola is a great receiver as well. Amendola, who has restructured his contract with New England, has been clutch when the Patriots need him to be for the team. The three wide receivers are all hard workers and grinders, very much Belichick-ian players.

This doesn’t even touch on the combination of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett at the tight end position. Both Gronk and Bennett are massive targets that have speed to boot. Matching up against the pair of Gronk and Bennett on defense is almost unfair.

Add all this to the fire that is burning inside Tom Brady to come back better than ever and we have the scariest New England Patriots’ offense since 2007. The players are different between the two teams but with the addition of two very big tight ends who can catch almost anything thrown their way, the offense may be the best it has ever been.

It should be a lot of fun to see what the New England Patriots can do now that Tom Brady is back leading this defensive coordinator’s nightmare of an offense.
