The New England Patriots Are the First NFL Team to Buy an Airplane

With the help of superstar quarterback Tom Brady, the New England Patriots have recently been a dominant force in the National Football League (NFL). Indeed, in a span of 15 years, the Patriots have won five Super Bowl titles. And much of their success has come by way of aerial attacks, as Brady has consistently connected through the air with one of his many receivers. Yet those are not the only waves the Patriots are making in the air. The franchise has just become the first NFL team to purchase its own airplane for team travel. And just to make the feat all the more impressive, the Patriots bought two of them.
According to ESPN.com's Darren Rovell, the two Boeing 767 aircrafts are estimated to cost a total of roughly $10 million. But the expenses do not end there. Maintaining two aircrafts to safely fly the team around the country for away matches will add to the costs. The Patriots plan to rent out the airplanes when they are not in use to help recoup some of the expenses.
Traveling between cities can be extremely taxing on NFL players' bodies. That was one of the main reasons the Patriots decided to invest in the aircrafts. To that end, the franchise has reportedly outfitted the interiors to feature first-class seating. What's more, the airplanes reportedly will be equipped with smart toilets, which means the toilets will be able to quickly and accurately measure hydration levels for each player after they have been used.
It looks like the New England Patriots are more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure their franchise remains at the top of the league.
