Energy facilities targeted in drone strikes across Russia

Several Russian oblasts, including Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kaluga, were targeted by a series of drone attacks on April 20, causing damage and casualties, according to local Russian officials.

An energy infrastructure facility was damaged after a drone exploded near a power substation in the Maloyaroslavets district of Kaluga Oblast, regional Governor Vladislav Shapsha wrote on Telegram, reporting no casualties.

Two people were killed in a drone attack in Belgorod Oblast, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed, adding that three one-way attack drones were shot down overnight.

A series of explosions and bright flash in the sky near the town of Stary Oskol were reported by locals on social media.

Five drones were destroyed over the Vygonichsky district, Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz claimed, with one of them setting fire to an energy infrastructure facility.

Another five drones were reportedly intercepted over Kursk Oblast, regional Governor Roman Starovoit claimed.
