So, the hero has been redefined in Bollywood. And the credit for this to a large extent goes to none other than Emraan Hashmi.

The actor, who with his ordinary looks is currently one of the most dependable actors in town, believes that becoming a public icon is not about physical features alone but is the by-product of the actor's individuality.

Speaking about his journey in Bollywood so far, Emraan believes that he has been fortunate to have played some of the most popular characters which the audiences could relate to. Talking about his career graph, Emraan says, "I have seen the highs and lows in my career. There was a point in my career when I had three flops in a row and didn't know what to do next. Thankfully, JANNAT came my way and it changed the game for me. Moreover, I will call myself fortunate for having done various roles and played characters that have been aspirational and relatable, something which the youth of today can identify with."

Ask Emraan about being the unlikely hero as far as height and other physical attributes are concerned, the actor is quick to add, "For me the actor's individuality is more important than his personality. The audiences need convincing characters to relate to. I think, I have been able to do that and that explains why my films work at the box office."

While Emraan has become increasingly mainstream in his popularity, it's time to expect some more fireworks from his side.
