With one photo, Emmy Rossum joined the ranks of celebrities embracing their natural beauty. The Shameless star shared a close-up selfie of her makeup-free face wrapped in a winter coat and hood, with the simple caption “February.” It’s totally understandable — when it’s this cold out, who’s in the mood to put on makeup?

Fans jumped into the comments to praise Rossum’s natural beauty and her decision to go makeup free. “Let me just say that I think it’s incredible that you post pictures with no makeup on,” wrote user ioanafdiana. “You rock girl!”

Rossum has shared makeup-free looks on Instagram before, like on a rain-and-sweatshirt day last year. She jokingly captioned her photo “Never felt more glamorous.”

How does Rossum manage to glow even on Instagram? As she told InStyle, she uses a pared down skincare routine. Her routine consists of two simple tools: a cleansing brush and a basic bar of soap. “I use a Clarisonic cleansing brush every night,” Rossum said. “Aside from that, I just wash my face with a bar of soap. My makeup artist is going to have a heart attack. I’m a bar of soap girl.” While we can’t endorse using the bar of soap in your shower to scrub your face, we won’t argue with Rossum’s results.
