Emmett Township police seek public's help to solve Sunday carjacking

EMMETT TWP. — A man who stole a woman's vehicle at gunpoint Sunday is being sought by Emmett Township Public Safety.

The woman told police the suspect ordered her out of the vehicle and then drove it away.

Battle Creek police recovered the victim's vehicle about noon Monday in the rear parking lot of the Speedway gas station at 566 W. Columbia Ave.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Stimac's Grocery, 883 E. Michigan Ave., at approximately 10:10 p.m. Sunday, police said in a press release.

The woman said a younger male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a thin build, stole her vehicle. The suspect was concealing his face with a bandana and glasses, police said.

Police are asking anyone who lives in area of the Speedway station who may have surveillance footage of the vehicle, the fleeing the vehicle or of a subject fitting the description to contact the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety at 269-968-9303 or Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
