Emmerdale has unveiled Mackenzie Boyd and Charity Dingle's storyline for the soap's upcoming 10,000th episode.

The show is lining up some big storylines next Wednesday (May 22), which will mark episode 10,000 – including a huge whodunnit focusing on Ethan Anderson.

Amid the events, it appears Mack and Charity will be getting some unwanted attention as they attempt to get intimate again.

The storyline begins with Moira and Cain getting concerned over Isaac's attachment to Minty the lamb, having told Isaac that the animal will be used for meat, despite him treating Minty as a pet.

Minty then goes missing, leading Isaac to suspect Moira and Cain of foul play, and during the village fête, the villagers and a newspaper photographer search for the lamb.

While this is going on, Mack and Charity crave intimacy again after Charity's PTSD ordeal, though struggle to be honest with each other. Yet when they open up, their busy lives get in the way.

However, the couple manage to eventually get intimate in a barn, though are shocked when the photographer and the search party interrupt them amid the hunt for Minty.

How will being disturbed by half the village go down?

Meanwhile, the episode will also see Cain, Caleb and Ruby turn their eyes towards Ethan after his arrest for causing the recent car crash that has left Nicky Miligan in a coma.

During the fête, Ethan is injured in a deliberate hit and run, collapsing to the shock of those at the event. When he regains consciousness, Ethan admits he didn’t see his attacker – but could one of Cain, Caleb and Ruby be behind the attack?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
