When it comes to landing a man, Ina Garten, aka The Barefoot Contessa, has the recipe for success.

And Emily Blunt can attest to that.

The British actress attributes the beloved Food Network superstar’s meal for making John Krasinski fall in love with her.

Blunt, who’s been married to the actor since 2010, shared that the famous chicken recipe did the trick.

“I guess I just made something that I knew he would love,” the “Mary Poppins” star revealed while on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast this week. “A roast chicken, who doesn’t love roast chicken? The roast chicken I love is Ina Garten’s roast chicken. It’s called her ‘Engagement Chicken’ because I think when people make it for people they get engaged or something.”

There’s an old adage that states the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

According to culinary lore, Glamour magazine fashion editor Kim Bonnell popularized the recipe in 1982 when a co-worker prepared the dish for her boyfriend, which led to a proposal. Three other women in the office were engaged after making the dish for their boyfriends.

Decades later, the famous recipe inspired former Essence.com editor Joi-Marie McKenzie to pen the engaging memoir, “The Engagement Game: Why I Said ‘I Don’t’ to Marriage and ‘I Do’ to Me,” published in 2017 to rave reviews.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are believed to have gotten engaged later that year while she was making Garten’s roast chicken — or a version of it.

“There is nothing as delicious (or as impressive) as a perfectly roasted chicken,” the future Duchess of Sussex told Good Housekeeping in 2016. “If you have an Ina Garten-level roasted-chicken recipe, it’s a game changer. I bring that to parties and make a lot of friends.”

So, what’s the recipe?

“Lemon, garlic, onions up the chicken, thyme, salt and pepper, all that,” Blunt dished. “You scatter onions around the chicken, but you pack them in really tight into the tray. And then you roast them really high [for] about an hour and 20 minutes and they’re done and they’re perfect.”

“When you take the chickens out, you then kind of sauté in some wine and some butter into that onion-y, garlic-y mixture,” she added. “Oh my God, it’s divine. It’s really sticky and yummy.”

“The Devil Wears Prada” and “Jungle Cruise” actress and “The Office” star went on to have two daughters, 7-year-old Hazel and 5-year-old Violet.

The union also works well for winning at the box office; “The Quiet Place” movies — starring Blunt and directed by Krasinski — have grossed more than $645 million worldwide.
