Emilia Clarke has recalled how Brad Pitt attempted to bid for an evening with her during a charity auction, and described it as "the best night" of her life.

The Game Of Thrones star filmed an interview for The Graham Norton Show (to be aired tonight) during which she revealed how the Hollywood actor was eventually outbid.

"There was an auction for a charity do that I was asked to take part in so I offered time with myself and as the bidding started I realised Brad Pitt was trying to buy me," the 31-year-old actress joyfully recounted.

"I looked across the room and he had his paddle up! Sadly, he was outbid and it didn’t work out."

Jon Snow's Kit Harrington also offered to be included in the date - which involved watching an episode of the hit HBO fantasy drama with Emilia - and the auction began at $20,000 (£18,829), with a confident Brad going straight in at $80,000 (£59,317) (via Variety).

However, he was beaten by an unknown gala-goer, who won the bid with a cool $160,000 (£118,634). The charity event - a benefit for J/P HRO & Disaster Relief Organisations - was hosted by Sean Penn, and included guests such as Patricia Arquette and Leonard DiCaprio.

Emilia also spoke about her latest movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, and how she enjoyed partying with Chewbacca and co-star Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

"I did what I could – we had a dance-off under the Millennium Falcon to gangster rap," she disclosed. "It turned into a dance-off between Chewwy and Phoebe."

Phoebe interjected: "We were grinding for ages and no one took any notice.

And on her recent trip to the Cannes Film Festival, Clarke joked: "We just kept knocking on doors to find out where the party was.

"We knocked on a few until we found the right one. We’d already gate crashed one of Stella McCartney's!"

Emilia Clarke and Phoebe Waller–Bridge appear on The Graham Norton Show tonight on BBC One at 10.35pm.
