Emergency road work shuts down east Charlotte street: NCDOT

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Emergency road work has shut down an east Charlotte street for several hours Tuesday, according to NCDOT.

The closure is along NC-27, also known as Albemarle Road, near Winterhaven Drive. The area is shut down in both directions.

The closure is due to an incident involving two broken poles, and damaged traffic signals, NCDOT reports.

The expected impact on traffic is high at this time. The area is projected to reopen by 7 p.m.
