Just a week after news broke that he had sold his longtime Austin home for an undisclosed sum, cyclist Lance Armstrong has snapped up some more modern digs overlooking Lake Austin in the tony gated community of Rob Roy. Despite a series of potentially expensive pending lawsuits related to his doping scandal, Armstrong opened his wallet to the tune of $4.34M to secure the five-bedroom compound, which, like his last place, was recently featured on the pages of Architectural Digest. The 3.6-acre property stretches from the road to the banks of Lake Austin, with the main house sited high on the hillside and linked to the boathouse by a 200-foot bridge originally installed on the property by helicopter. The 12,500-square-foot compound comprises four separate structures, all designed by local architect Arthur Andersson, and includes a sports court, a home theater, and an art studio.
