Elton John In San Diego: Dates, Tickets To Farewell Tour

Elton John is heading to five continents as part of his 300-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. Here’s how you can watch.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Elton John’s final tour, which kicked off last summer, is coming to San Diego this year.

John, who turns 72 in March, will stop at dozens of cities across five continents as part of his 300-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. The tour will stretch into 2021.

Stops this year include Boise; Portland, Oregon; Fresno, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Los Angeles, Denver, Tulsa, Omaha, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Newark, New York City, Brooklyn, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Orlando, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Tampa, Memphis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Boston, and, of course, Las Vegas.

In San Diego, the Oscar-, Grammy- and Tony-winning performer will be playing at Pechanga Arena on Jan. 29. Click here to find tickets. Enter the promo code “PatchTickets10” at checkout to get 10 percent off.

Concertgoers can expect to hear the classics such as “Your Song,” ″Tiny Dancer,” ″Rocket Man,” ″Candle In the Wind” and “I’m Still Standing.”And the show likely won’t be understated.

According to The Associated Press, John, donning a Gucci blazer covered in pink flowers and green stems, sang confidently and electrified for a Philadelphia crowd for three hours in September. And of course, his signature piano moved from one end of the stage to the other.

He has also paired many of his songs with new videos.

This being the 21st century and all, you might have to deal with folks who choose to record every moment with their cellphone. Also expect air-pianists and numerous amateur shower-singers.

Also don’t be surprised if John cracks a joke. After thanking Philadelphia fans for buying his albums, he joked that if someone had asked him 10 years ago whether he’d be doing a farewell tour, he’d have said “you put acid in my drink.”

But alas, even “The Rocket Man” has to know when it it’s time to fall back to Earth. He said he wants to spend more time with his family.

“I have the most beautiful family and I really need to spend more time with them. I know you understand since a lot of you have children of your own. I just want to be there for them and that’s why I’m doing this tour. It’s to say thank you and say goodbye to touring,” he said, according to Rolling Stone.
