Elmira inmate arrested as Pennsylvania fugitive

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — An Elmira man who is currently in jail was arrested as a fugitive from justice out of Pennsylvania.

Victor Santos, 38, was arrested at the Chemung County Jail on May 22. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office received a warrant out of Bradford County for Santos’s arrest. According to the sheriff’s office, Santos, who is currently incarcerated in the Chemung County Jail, was wanted on the charges of theft by deception and false impression.

Pennsylvania fugitive arrested in Chemung County

After he was arrested, Santos was processed as a fugitive from justice, and his charges were read in the Chemung County Court. Santos was then taken back to the Chemung County Jail.

Santos is currently awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
