Elma woman arraigned in connection with fatal January hit-and-run
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Elma woman was arraigned Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run earlier this year on Transit Road, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies said Stephanie Kollatz, 36, is alleged to have fatally struck a pedestrian on the night of Jan. 8 while driving in the vicinity of 4701 Transit Rd. The victim was not identified by the Sheriff’s Office.
A day after the incident, deputies reported that they had located the suspected vehicle and that the alleged driver was cooperating with authorities.
Kolltaz was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and numerous vehicle and traffic law infractions. She was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment.
