The New Mexico State Parks Division says the butte is about 25% full which is around the same water level as it was last year. Park officials say they should have plenty of space for visits and are asking people to be patient with others and be safe on the lake. “We want to remind people that operating a vehicle about anything under the influence of alcohol or drugs is still illegal is not allowed. And we do patrol for that. We also want folks to know there’s gonna be extra patrols,” said Park Superintendent Chris Bolen.

Officials are also reminding everyone to wear a life vest on the lake. The park is giving away 400 free life vests for children as well.
