Elementary school building demolished in Marstons Mills

MARSTONS MILLS ― The demolition of the former Marstons Mills Elementary School at 2095 Main St. was undertaken in early August.

School officials announced in 2012 plans to declare the former Marstons Mills Elementary School building as surplus and revert control of it back to the town of Barnstable.

In March, the town sought bids for the demolition and awarded the job on April 1 to Pasquazzi Bros. Inc. for $670,559, according to town records.

The property is owned by the town and the school building was constructed in 1957, according to town records.
