In an Instagram post, Cheng said her mother hit her head on the concrete and passed out on the floor, causing her to receive 5-10 stitches on her forehead. She was treated at Booth Memorial Hospital, according to the police. "I am heart broken and devastated," Cheng wrote of the attack, "Hate crime has no place in our community. How you go up against a 5'3 110-115 lbs lady? How no one holds this person down on Main street is another question. Especially in an asian community." In another post, Cheng also shared surveillance footage of the incident.
