El Paso experiences dust storm, zero visibility

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The National Weather Service is advising those in the El Paso area to prepare for a dust storm.

An emergency alert was sent to most phones just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, stating the dust storm was going to impact the El Paso area until 5:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service asks for people to “be ready for a sudden drop to zero visibility.”

The National Weather service also asks motorists to “pull aside, stay alive.”

“When visibility drops, pull far off the road and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights off and keep your foot off the break,” the Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service also says infants, the elderly and those with respiratory issues to take precautions.
