El Paso Electric outage map experiences glitch, reports more than 900 without power

UPDATE: El Paso Electric’s outage map was corrected on Tuesday, April 2, according to a spokesperson with El Paso Electric.

ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Electric’s outage map showed more than 900 customers without power on Tuesday morning, April 2. However, it was reported as a “discrepancy,” according to a spokesperson with El Paso Electric.

The utility reported more than 900 people without power on Tuesday morning.

KTSM reached out to El Paso Electric regarding the glitch. The utility responded with the following statement:

“There is a discrepancy in the outages being reported on our outage map at this time. We’re working to resolve it as quickly as possible, and rest assured that if there are any outages that our customers are reporting to us are being tracked and worked on. Currently, our only active outages are approximately 50 customers in the Clint area.”
