Eisenhower Foundation seeks designs for mural in Abilene

ABILENE, Kan. (KSNW) — The Eisenhower Foundation is seeking designs for a mural in Abilene.

The mural will be painted on the Bert & Wetta Silo in Abilene, just a few blocks east of Eisenhower Presidential Library. The selected design must depict elements of the life and legacy of America’s 34th president.

Designs must be submitted by April 30. The winner will be announced on May 30.

A professional artist will then adapt the design for the 35 by 54 feet area of the silo where it will be painted. Once completed in Fall, it will be visible from the Eisenhower Presidential Library & Museum.

The person whose design is selected will be honored at the unveiling reception and will also receive a personalized tour for up to six guests at the Eisenhower Presidential Museum. The design contest is open to residents of Kansas only.
