Actress Eileen Ryan, who is the mother of Sean Penn, has died at age 94.

After launching her career on Broadway in the 1950s, the New York City native went on to star in over 60-plus film and television credits, including “Magnolia,” “Feast,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Twilight Zone.”

Showbusiness ran in the family. Ryan married a prolific director and was the matriarch of a talented clan that included three sons; singer and composer Michael Penn, two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn and late actor Chris Penn.

Eldest son Michael announced the news Monday on social media.

“We lost mom yesterday,” he tweeted.

Ryan reportedly died at her home in Malibu on Sunday, one week before what would’ve been her 95th birthday. A cause of death was not released.

The thespian, whose given name was Eileen Annucci, appeared in several films directed by and featuring Sean Penn, including “I Am Sam,” The Indian Runner” and “All The King’s Men.”

She even played the grandmother of Sean and Chris in the 1986 film “At Close Range.”

Her final film role was the 2016 Howard Hughes-inspired drama “Rules Don’t Apply,” directed by Warren Beatty.

Ryan’s husband, Leo Penn, was an award-winning actor who appeared on Broadway and went on to act in numerous television series during the 1960s. In the 1970s and 1980s, he became a sought-after television director. Penn died in 1998 at the age of 77.
