Eight Hanover events receive grants to help foster a welcoming community
Eight local events were the recipients of grants designed to help foster a welcoming and connected community in the Hanover area.
The grants, called "Welcoming Communities, Hanover," were created in 2023 by the Cultural Alliance of York County in partnership with Main Street Hanover and supported by the William J. Warehime Foundation, according to a press release by the Cultural Alliance of York County.
Any events in the greater Hanover area are eligible to receive the grants, including Littlestown, New Oxford, Abbottstown, Spring Grove and Hanover.
Events were reviewed by a local panel from the Hanover community, and eight grants of up to $2,000 were distributed to local events happening between May 2024 and May 2025.
"The funding for these community events will play a vital role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community," said Dan Frey, chairman of the board of directors for Main Street Hanover in the release
