Eggrolls, ribs, crepes. Find unique food at Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend
Festival food is always a hit.
And Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival is one that foodies don’t want to miss.
The Cherry Blossom Festival at Carolyn Crayton Park offers festival-goers the classics, like fresh lemonade, nachos, funnel cakes and fried turkey legs.
While you can’t go wrong with any of those options, the Cherry Blossom Festival will also have a Food Truck Frenzy on Saturday and Sunday.
“Food trucks from around the South featuring the latest culinary trends gather on the last weekend of the Festival to provide Macon with a taste of the food truck mania sweeping the country,” the festival’s website says.
That’s right – Third Street will be decorated with food trucks serving up all the best, most unique street foods.
Here’s the full list of food trucks and vendors that will be in attendance this weekend, plus a few fun items on the menu from each:
EggRoll Boyz
This Alpharetta, Georgia-based vendor offers some of the most unique eggrolls:
Bayou Boyz eggroll: Seafood Delight! Crab, Lobster and shrimp rolled with love. Topped with Cajun remulade, parsley, and served with Cajun butter dipping sauce
Burger Boyz: A classic Cheese Burger in an Eggroll. Seasoned angus beef, colby jack cheese and pickles. Served with fries and fried rice.
Island Noodles
Island Noodles cooks up healthy, wok-fired noodles with fresh vegetables and an island style sauce.
Melia’s Cupcakes
Melia’s Cupcakes will satisfy your sweet tooth with candy grapes, cupcakes and cake jars.
Country Cabin Sweets and Treats
We’re here for all of the treats at this “cabin,” from key lime pie on a stick to chocolate dipped bananas and more.
Cuban Island Cafe
Taste the Cuban cuisine here at this food truck. If you want some deep fried mashed potatoes, order the Papa Rellena, or if you’re a fan of Cuban sandwiches, this spot has one of the best.
Queens Pretzel Palace
Macon’s very own food truck serves up fresh, hot pretzels:
Pizza pretzel: it’s a pizza on a pretzel, with cheese and pepperoni
Pretzel dog: A hot dog served in a salty pretzel bun
Salsa’s Mexican Grill
Salsa’s will be serving Mexican street corn, margaritas and beer. Need we say more?
Mrs. Rosa’s Latin Kitchen
Grab your authentic Latin empanadas, carne asada and tacos de pollo here.
Kelvin’s BBQ
Boston butts and ribs: that’s what this award-winning competitive barbecue team will be cooking up in Macon this weekend. Count us in.
Smash Hit Burgers
They’ve got a “passion for a perfect patty.” Here are some unique menu items:
Blackened salmon BLT: features fresh Atlantic salmon, crispy applewood bacon, crisp green leaf lettuce & juicy beefsteak tomatoes. Served on a toasted brioche bun, with a tangy caper remoulade sauce.
Pimento cheese smash burger: Tillamook pimento cheese, shredded lettuce, sweet heat pickles, sweet onion & bacon jam.
Lisa’s Creperie & Cafe
Savory and sweet crepes like:
BEC crepe: bacon, egg and cheddar
Caprese: Tomato, goat cheese, spinach, basil, balsamic glaze
Lavender sugar and lemon juice crepe
Nutella and banana crepe
Spud Stud
Try one of these crazy good dishes:
Piggy Mac Fry: homemade Mac-n-Cheese, our Smoked Pulled Pork, BBQ sauce and jalapeños.
C-B-R: shredded chicken breast, bacon, melted cheddar jack cheese, and a drizzle of ranch on top of your fresh cut fries.
Spud Stud Hot: breaded chicken breast drizzled with our very own recipe Hot sauce, topped with our signature slaw and pickle slices.
D&D Burgers, Wings N Things
We can’t wait to try their double patty jalapeños burger “King” burger. Or the loaded shrimp fry basket. Or the pork chop sandwich.
The Mad Greek
We are madly in love with these unique items:
Falafel gyro: chickpeas, parsley, garlic, and olive oil blended and formed into a grilled falafel patty
Greek dog: A beef hot dog topped with a mixture of olives, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce
Tzatziki dip: 100% Greek yogurt made with fresh English cucumbers and garlic. Served with grilled pita.
La Bella Morelia
Another Macon favorite and we recommend the tamales, the Mexican hot dog or the Sopes de carne azada.
