Effingham left with damage after Tuesday morning storms

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — A line of storms that moved through Central Illinois Tuesday morning left behind significant damage in Effingham.

90 without power in Central IL after morning storms

Matt Kulesza, Assistant Chief of the Effingham Fire Department, said the storms came through town and were gone in just eight minutes. In its wake, the storms left behind damage to trailer homes in the Easy Breeze MHP and other buildings in town. The rooftop air conditioner units of Puerto Vallarta were torn off the building and thrown into the parking lot.

Kulesza said multiple crews from Effingham Fire and Police, Effingham Public Works, Illinois State Police, IDOT and Ameren are working to clean up the damage and clear roadways of debris.
