Eddie Redmayne confirms baby news at Golden Globes

Eddie Redmayne's infectious smile at the 2016 Golden Globes had more to do with news in his personal life than being up for yet another trophy. A month after reports surfaced that he and his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, were expecting their first child, The Danish Girl star confirmed the happy news during an interview on the red carpet. The happy couple will become first-time parents in June.

The publicist looked gorgeous in a black gown that drew attention to her growing bump with its empire waist. Mom-to-be Hannah certainly had that pregnancy glow about her as she supported her husband on his big night.

Eddie, who said it was a "treat" to be at the ceremony, looked dapper in a black tuxedo.

When asked by Ryan Seacrest if a baby was on the way, the actor confirmed that he and his wife are set to be parents. The couple were gifted with a sweet baby onesie before heading inside The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles for the 73rd Golden Globes.

Hannah and Eddie, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Dec. 15, are said to be "extremely excited" at the prospect of welcoming a baby.

Last year, sources told The Sun that Hannah and Eddie had shared the happy news with close friends and family, and that the couple don't want to find out the sex of the baby.

If Eddie wins the best actor award this year, it will be the second time in a row that he has won the prize. The star was recognized in 2015 for his stellar performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

Apart from the release of The Danish Girl this year, fans will also see Eddie in the highly anticipated film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – a spin-off of J.K. Rowling's successful Harry Potter series – which will be released in November.
