EBRSO charges accused drug dealer and seize meth, cocaine, fentanyl, guns

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office into an accused fentanyl distributor in the Baton Rouge area ended with one man in custody.

Corey Kinchen, 45, was apprehended on Thursday, March 28. He was charged with four counts of distribution of fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute oxycodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“Agents conducted four controlled purchases of fentanyl from Kinchen and identified two locations he utilized for his operation,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Those locations were at Woodland Drive and Monroe Avenue, deputies said.

Agents searched those locations and found drugs, guns and money. They seized nine grams of fentanyl, 77.56 pressed fentanyl pills, 11 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crack cocaine, 18 grams of marijuana, two dosage units of oxycodone, 12 dosage units of hydromorphone, $17,179, 9mm Century Arms handgun and 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun.

EBRSO said Kinchen was on parole until 2028 for charges of possession with the intent to distribute MDMA, possession with the intent to distribute heroin and obstruction of justice.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, March 28. As of the publishing of this article, no bond has been set for Kinchen.

Louisiana National Guard Air Support and Zachary Police Department K9 assisted the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
