SOUTH PARKEclipse Chocolate Bar & Bistro, which moved to a new spot last year, is celebrating ten years in business with a series of events in September that kick-off with a Build-A-Bar Workshop on September 6 and culminate in two anniversary dinners scheduled for September 26 and 27; the five-course meals, featuring locally-raised proteins and produce, are $50/person. LIBERTY STATION Slater's 50/50, home of the 1/2 bacon, 1/2 beef patty, is going whole hog in celebration of International Bacon Day, which occurs this weekend. They'll have street teams in and around San Diego, handing out special $5 meal cards for their B'B'B Bacon Burger, which sandwiches the signature 50/50 patty in a bacon pretzel bun and tops it with bacon American cheese, a sunny side up egg, bacon dressing, and more bacon. And on Saturday, anyone who goes into the San Marcos or Liberty Station eateries dressed in a bacon costume will get a free side of two thick cut bacon strips. [EaterWire]

RANCHO SANTA FE— On Friday, September 12, Rancho Valencia is hosting a Napa Vintner Series event that'll feature 11 Napa wineries in attendance. From 7 to 9 p.m., stroll the resort's croquet lawn while listening to live music and tasting wine and sampling from food stations that'll include fresh oysters and a cheese and charcuterie spread.
