EastEnders star Jonny Labey spotted on Hollyoaks set

EastEnders star Jonny Labey has made an intriguing behind-the-scenes appearance on the Hollyoaks set.

The Paul Coker actor is pictured in the Hollyoaks green room in a social media photo shared by Jamie Lomas and is seemingly filming with the Channel 4 soap.

Digital Spy reached out to Hollyoaks producers but the soap is not sharing any details about Jonny Labey's set appearance at this stage.

In the post below, Jonny is pictured between Isabelle Smith (Frankie Osborne) and Tyler Conti (Abe Fielding):

If Jonny is joining Hollyoaks in some form, he'd be following the footsteps of fellow former EastEnders star Rita Simons — who took over the role of Marie Fielding in Hollyoaks earlier this year.

Jonny was an EastEnders cast member between 2015 and 2016, where his character Paul was part of an iconic soap couple with Ben Mitchell.

Since leaving The Square, Jonny turned towards reality TV as a competitor on the short-lived The X Factor: Celebrity series, and has also made acting appearances in Doctors and BBC One's Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators.

Hollyoaks is going through significant cast changes at the moment, with Jamie Lomas set to leave his role as drugs boss Warren Fox shortly.

Ross Adams has confirmed he will be quitting his role as Scott Drinkwell soon, with David Ames (Carter Shepherd) and Jonas Khan (Zain Rizwaan) on their way out too.

Steph Waring shared earlier in the spring that her character Cindy Cunningham would be written out this year as part of a reduction in Hollyoaks cast.

There are some new and returning faces on the way as well, with Charlie Wernham reprising his role as Robbie Roscoe and Hollyoaks legend Jeremy Sheffield returning as a brand-new character alongside Sherrie Hewson.

More changes will come this autumn when Hollyoaks moves from five episodes per week to three, with a one-year time jump used to explain changes in the cast.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
