EastEnders star Matthew Morrison has shared a sweet on-set moment with co-star Steve McFadden.

Morrison plays Felix Baker, the younger son of Mitch's (Roger Griffiths) estranged brother Avery (Omar Lye-Fook).

Since arriving on the Square in 2022, Felix has often had run-ins with Walford stalwart Phil Mitchell (McFadden).

Speaking to Inside Soap, Morrison opened up about preparing for his "nerve-racking" scenes with McFadden, revealing that the long-standing actor made an effort to make him "feel comfortable".

"When I got the script, I was bricking it because I hadn't really worked with Steve before! But he did this amazing thing where he came to me a few days before we started shooting to discuss the scene," he explained.

"I think what he was trying to do was make me feel comfortable, because he knows what it feels like. And shooting it was really, really fun to do!"

He added: "It was nerve-racking, but it needn't have been because Steve is such a lovely guy."

In recent weeks, Felix has been on hand to help Bernie Taylor after she finally learnt of her brother Keanu's shocking death. The character was killed during the soap's anticipated Christmas Day episode in December 2023.

The Six were left horrified last month when Keanu's body was found under the floorboards at the café.

On Felix's relationship with Bernie, Morrison said: "It got off to a rocky start. He was a bit mean and quite snappy towards Bernie at first, but now they're thick as thieves!

"And I'm losing the line between reality and the actual show because I love Clair [Norris, who plays Bernie] to pieces in real life. It's a 'lean on me' type of relationship where two people are family, even though they're not blood-related."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
