EastEnders has offered a first look at Jay Brown's aftermath of discovering Nadine lied about her pregnancy.

Preview photos from Thursday's (May 2) final episode of the week show Jay getting surprising comfort from Stevie Mitchell as he grapples with the truth.

It was the returning Stevie who teamed up with Lexi Pearce to expose Nadine's lies about being pregnant with Jay's child — confirming she'd been wearing a fake baby bump all along.

Lexi had first suspected Nadine was lying when she caught her drinking alcohol last week, but was asked to apologise by Jay when she came forward with her accusation.

However, she finally had the proof when Stevie revealed that Nadine had tried to bribe him to keep quiet. He later confronted Nadine in front of the family to share the truth.

Jay actor Jamie Borthwick previously admitted that his character didn't suspect Nadine early enough because he wanted to believe he could have a family.

"We all know Jay, he’s a good man as Perry Fenwick [Billy] calls him, a good man, so he certainly lives up to responsibility," he said.

"I think he’s sucked into this dream, he buys into it, he absolutely has no reason to not believe so he’s all for it and he steps up when called upon because he is a good man."

It remains to be seen whether or not Stevie's involvement in exposing Nadine could lead to reconciliation with his family.

Stevie's son Billy Mitchell and relative Phil Mitchell have both previously refused to welcome him back into the family.
