East Yorkshire farmers in vintage tractor charity ride
An East Yorkshire farmer and his two sons are embarking on a 900-mile (1,450 km) ride on two vintage tractors to raise money for three charities.
Brian Morley from Driffield aims to make the journey from John O' Groats to Lands End in five days.
He will be joined by sons Callum and Tom riding on a pair of restored 60 year old Dexta tractors.
Mr Morley said he was "looking forward to the challenge" and had spent time preparing the vintage vehicles.
"We've serviced them all we've gone right through them," he said.
"We've done all the basics that we think might go wrong with chains and we've got a few spares."
The trio hope to raise £10,000 for the MND Association, British Heart Foundation and the Stroke Association.
They will set off from Scotland on 6 April.
Callum Morley said they had already driven the machines more than 100 miles (160 km) to prepare for the "Dextas On the Run" challenge.
"We're looking at averaging sort of 20mph," he said
"It can be a bit quicker going down hill, bit slower going up hills.
Scotland will be nice first day we are coming form John O Groats into Fort William so should be some nice scenery, big hill mountains and what not.
Overall it should be a nice five days, we're trying to keep to main A roads but there should be some back roads we get off on to."
