When the calendar rolls over to August it marks the first day college programs can officially send out formal, written scholarship offers to prospects.
East Carolina raised the bar with the offers it is sending out. Look at these beauties:

Oh my god look how gorgeous they are. Actual pirate scrolls from the ECU Pirates!

Every detail is cool and well thought out, down to the old-time cursive writing and the burned edges — which are actually burnt! ECU recruiting assistant Kevin Slattery explained the process to USA Today:
“I made the initial design in Photoshop, then took paper from our University Print Shop and printed them out in our offices. Once printed, the letters were stained with coffee grounds and filters that we keep around the office. Once they were stained each letter was taken to a secure location and the edges were burned to give a unique finish. The stamp was a custom order with our logo on it. We sealed each letter as well as adding a seal to the bottom of the page, which was signed by our Head Coach Scottie Montgomery.”
Recruits are receiving these offers all across the country, so you’ll be sure to see them plastered across your Twitter timeline all day. This Maryland one also caught our attention:

The Terps are very hip, but ECU has already won the day.
